There is a great deal of frustration for a good number of people when it comes to making money online. But, it shouldn’t be difficult if you know what pitfalls to avoid. If you pay good attention to this post, you will save yourself painful experiences and in no time you’ll be on the path to success.

Many articles have been written on how to succeed in life or at best, how to succeed in making online. But nothing has so far been written on what to avoid if you plan on succeeding online as an entrepreneur. Sometimes, avoiding serious pitfalls has an integral way of providing applicable pathways to success.

So, if you are used to what you should do to succeed online as an entrepreneur, there other things you should logically speaking, avoid like a plague. Out of many things to avoid, I chose only three because if can can get these three things right, the rest will fall like domino.

The three things you must avoid in other to succeed in your online business are the following:

1. Too Many Masters.

At one point or another, we are all guilty of this deadly mistake. The urge to follow almost any guru that pops online, hawking one shining object or the other.  So we jump from one e-course to another without fully implementing the one we just started.   I call this problem, the “shining object” syndrome.

Think of this.  Can you cross a river by sticking your foot in two or more boats at the same time?

Impossible!

Just like crossing the river on a single makes sense, you must resist the temptation to jump or follow so many gurus at the same time. Otherwise you’ll find yourself at the bottom of the sea.

2.  Stuck In The Past.

Many newbies are unfortunately stuck in the past. They are either used to the past and unwilling to try new ways of doing things or completely ignorant of the principal laws of success. If you fail to ride the wave, it will drive you instead.

For example, I still meet people whose vision of eBay is mired in the past.  They think of eBay 1.0 where you have to take pictures with your camera, upload the image, describe the product and list the item. Then wait endlessly for the cash registrar to ring.  Many who adhere to this model are sadly disappointed.

All you need to do, is look around and you will find that we are going beyond 2.0 in many digital businesses. Learning new ways of making money is essential to your success.
Change is all inevitable, so ride it and don’t trap yourself in the past ways of doing things.

3.  Lack Of Self Discipline.

The outcome for poor discipline is usually failure. What are the major causes of catastrophic failure?  Inaction, inertia or simply laziness. To succeed in your online business as in anything, you need to be disciplined.
